Kansas City Ballet Patrons Society Kickoff on October 12, 2006 Opening night of Kansas City Ballet’s 2006-2007 was tinged with sadness as the news of the death of Todd Bolender reached the ears of Patrons. Instead of the usual opening night revelry, the party instead became a celebration of the incredible life of Mr. Bolender. And as he would have wanted, the show did go on. After the reception on the stairs of the Lyric, Patrons were able to watch the very thing that made Mr. Bolender so special, his choreography.
